In which dynasty did Peking Opera originate?

Peking opera originated in the Qing Dynasty, and took shape during the reign of Emperor Qianlong (mid-18th century). It combines elements of various local operas, and was initially based on Hui opera and Qinqiang. After continuous evolution, it eventually developed into today's Peking opera. Peking opera was widely spread and developed in the late 19th century, especially in Beijing, and became one of the representatives of traditional Chinese opera.
