Air-cooled chillers provide cold water to users through a refrigeration cycle and are mainly composed of the following components and working principles:
Main components
- compressor: Compress low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas into high-temperature and high-pressure gas.
- Condenser: The air-cooled condenser uses a fan to blow air to cool the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas, causing it to condense into a high-pressure liquid.
- Throttling device(such as expansion valve)**: Reduce the pressure of the refrigerant, turning the high-pressure liquid into a low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant.
- Evaporator: Low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant absorbs heat from water in the evaporator and evaporates into gas, thereby cooling the water.
- Fan: Provide air flow for the condenser to promote heat dissipation.
- Control System:Monitor and adjust unit operation to ensure stable operation.
How it works
- compression: The compressor sucks in low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas and compresses it into high-temperature and high-pressure gas.
- Condensation:High temperature and high pressure gas enters the condenser, is cooled by air driven by a fan, releases heat, and condenses into high pressure liquid.
- Throttling: The high-pressure liquid is reduced in pressure through the throttling device and becomes a low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant.
- evaporation: Low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant enters the evaporator, absorbs the heat of the circulating water, evaporates into gas, lowers the water temperature, and produces cold water.
- cycle: The refrigerant gas is sucked into the compressor again and the above cycle is repeated.
Features
- Air Cooling Design: No cooling tower is required, suitable for places with scarce water resources or limited space.
- Heat Dissipation: Heat is dissipated through air, and the efficiency is affected by the ambient temperature. The efficiency may decrease during high temperatures in summer.
- application:Widely used in air-conditioning systems, industrial cooling and other scenarios.
Simply put, air-cooled chillers circulate refrigerant, use air to cool the refrigerant, absorb the heat of the water, and produce cold water for users.
