Manufacturers must publish a product information sheet documenting thermal efficiency and fan power, and that sheet is what a designer cites at spec time. For non-residential AHUs, EN 13053 governs how the recovery section is rated within the whole unit, including the pressure drop it adds. Residential bidirectional units face the same 73% logic but with a tighter SFP reference.
