This is my first semester teaching at this rural primary school. The unfamiliar environment hasn't made me feel like a stranger. The leaders appreciate me, I get along well with my colleagues, and the students are well-behaved—everything seems peaceful and stable. But that's not the case. I'm most afraid of seeing Lin Xi; it's more terrifying than seeing a ghost. I don't think being loved by him is a blessing; it brings more annoyance and helplessness.

Lin Xi is the parent of student Xiao Lele, a loving father who cares deeply for his daughter. Unfortunately, Xiao Lele grew up in a single-parent family, resulting in a strange temper and withdrawn personality. I pay special attention to her in class. I believe that combining school and family education is crucial for Xiao Lele's healthy development. Therefore, it's essential to strengthen communication and contact with her parents. Lin Xi is very cooperative, not only picking up and dropping off his daughter every day but also frequently calling to inquire about her progress at school.
A semester passed peacefully, and Xiao Lele's grades improved significantly. I was also pleased to see a change in her personality: she no longer threw tantrums and was more willing to cooperate and communicate with her classmates. As a teacher, my students' progress is my motivation. Lin Xi was also very grateful to me, her homeroom teacher, and always tried to give me things. I don't like accepting gifts and always politely declined.

It was a deep winter night, and I was in bed reading *Norwegian Wood*. The sudden, urgent ringing of the phone shattered the tranquility of the night. Thinking something terrible had happened, my voice trembled slightly as I spoke: "Hello?" "Teacher Yang..." It was Lin Xi. "What's wrong?" The other person hesitated, as if she had something difficult to say. "Please speak." "Xiao Lele left a note and left home. I've been looking for her for most of the day, but I haven't seen her." That serious? I quickly changed my clothes and ran to school.
Even in the south, winter nights are bitterly cold. And what danger it is for an eight-year-old girl to wander around outside! Although I'm not her mother yet, I am still her child. I understand her anxiety completely. Lin Xi told me that Lele hadn't gone to her relatives' house. They'd been to all the places she liked to go, but still couldn't find her.

Lin Xi thought I was making things up, and even after I showed him the relevant photos and letters, he still didn't believe me. I couldn't avoid contact with Lin Xi; he liked to bring up Xiao Lele—he would always bring up these or other issues. After resolving them, he would always remind me: "Think about it, accept me!" Lin Xi is self-employed; someone can handle things at the shop. As a parent, coming to the school to see the homeroom teacher is perfectly reasonable. His crazy behavior is seriously affecting my work and life. Lin Xi repeatedly stated that his feelings for me weren't love at first sight, but rather developed over time. Xiao Lele needs me, he needs me even more, he can't leave me!
This winter break, Lin Xi actually found my home in the county town! Little Lele was crying and begging to see me. The noise bothered the neighbors, so I had to rush out the door and leave. When I returned, the father and daughter were still squatting at the door, unwilling to give up. I could only put them on the bus home. To obtain my senior primary school teacher qualification, I need to teach at that primary school for a year. Six months left—how am I going to survive?
