Role of the Medium Stage
F5-F9 filters remove fine dust, pollen and many microbes. They serve as the final filter in offices and hospitals, or the pre-HEPA stage in cleanrooms.
Build Types
- Pocket (bag) filters – high-loft synthetic media in 4-10 pockets; best ΔP/life balance; F5-F9.
- Rigid V-cell / mini-pleat – compact, high area, low ΔP; for tight housings and pre-HEPA.
- Panel – rigid cell, F5-F7; for shallow slots.

- Offices/schools: F5-F7. Health-care: F7-F8. Pre-HEPA: F9.
- Prefer V-cell where housing depth is limited.
- Verify media is progressively structured for high dust-holding.
- Pair with a healthy G4 primary to stretch life.
